Sharpen a tab of shingle to begin second course and place it as instructed by the manufacturer. Draw a line with the chalk to line the course and place the shingles.

If you cut the shingles from the back side, the blade will not be blunt quickly. Lay the edged shingles with the help of nails. For more speed, shingles can best be laid with the help of roofing axe. It is a tool with a waffled, broad head. It is best suited to the purpose.

If you want to remove a shingle in the cold weather, be on the ladder because snow and early dew can be slippery and harm you.
